Competitie & World Rankings EVOO
Every year, competitions for Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) are held all over the world. The competitions are divided into categories, namely olive type and country of origin. A competition winner is announced per category.
In order to determine which olive oil is the best in the world, a points system has been devised. The competitions are ranked by importance. Each competition has a score, with Mario Solinas being number 1.
The score of the competition is multiplied by the score of the award at the relevant competition. All points won in a year added together ultimately determine the annual winner. A side note to the best olive oil in the world is that there is a price tag attached to each competition. Not all producers choose to participate in all competitions.
